Activity PurposeEducational series on medical management
Upon completion of the activity, participants will
- Cite an approach to improve patient safety and care using BCBSIL Hospital Profile data coupled with financial incentives (competence/application)
- Describe a member-focused inpatient hospital pay-for-performance program that applies outcome bonus payments on an individual case basis (knowledge)
- Discuss how pay-for-performance programs and public reporting can be used to motivate hospitals to improve the provision of care (knowledge)
- Review a pay-for-performance algorithm that focuses on unplanned readmissions related to the same condition or complication of care (knowledge)
- Discuss the importance of collaboration between Blue Cross Plans and contracted hospitals to provide improved care for members (knowledge)

You will receive an automated certificate of participation. You may print or save this record for your files. In obtaining this approval, The ACHL has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standards that are widely recognized as standards of good practice internationally. As a result of their Authorized Provider membership status, The ACHL is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its activities that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standards. The ACHL is authorized by IACET to offer 0.1 CEU for this program. CEU may be used toward nursing credits. Contact your licensing agency for details.
