Activity PurposeEducational series on medical management
Upon completion of the activity, participants will
- Cite an approach to improve patient safety and care using BCBSIL Hospital Profile data coupled with financial incentives (competence/application)
- Describe a member-focused inpatient hospital pay-for-performance program that applies outcome bonus payments on an individual case basis (knowledge)
- Discuss how pay-for-performance programs and public reporting can be used to motivate hospitals to improve the provision of care (knowledge)
- Review a pay-for-performance algorithm that focuses on unplanned readmissions related to the same condition or complication of care (knowledge)
- Discuss the importance of collaboration between Blue Cross Plans and contracted hospitals to provide improved care for members (knowledge)

You will receive an automated certificate of participation. You may print or save this record for your files. It will also be sent to you via e-mail to the address provided in your profile on www.accessCME.org. There is no fee to participate in the program or for the generation of the certificate.

In obtaining this approval, The ACHL has demonstrated that it complies with the ANSI/IACET Standards that are widely recognized as standards of good practice internationally. As a result of their Authorized Provider membership status, The ACHL is authorized to offer IACET CEUs for its activities that qualify under the ANSI/IACET Standards.
