Are you a puzzle enthusiast? If so, you'll love this novel educational activity that uses a clue-based crossword and word game to test your knowledge and competency in recognizing atopic dermatitis (AD). Engage with expert videos, slides, audio, and other graphical representations as you elevate your mind and advance your proficiency with AD. Conquer the CrossMED™ puzzle now!

This activity is intended for primary care providers, pediatricians, dermatologists, and others involved in the recognition or management of patients with atopic dermatitis (AD).

AD is the most common chronic inflammatory skin disease worldwide. The majority of patients, especially children, receive their initial treatment for AD in a primary care setting. Patients with mild disease may respond to initial treatment, but those with more severe disease require individualized approaches with advanced therapy options. There are also racial and ethnic variations in the presentation and severity of AD that can delay diagnosis and the initiation of therapy. Primary care providers require an understanding of how to determine whether poor adherence or incorrect medication use are factoring into the treatment of AD and when referral to a specialist may be needed.

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Review the prevalence, incidence, and risk factors of AD
  • Discuss the differential diagnosis of AD across diverse patients
  • Introduce clinical practices to ensure that patients with AD are receiving timely and optimal treatment
