How Should I Treat AChR-Ab Seronegative gMG? Weighing The Latest Evidence to Inform Precision-Based Care

How Should I Treat AChR-Ab Seronegative gMG? Weighing The Latest Evidence to Inform Precision-Based Care
Case-based Education

No two patients with generalized myasthenia gravis (gMG) are the same and individualizing treatment is vital. Clinicians must integrate factors such as age of onset, autoantibody profile, clinical manifestation, gender, and thymic pathology to classify gMG subtypes and tailor treatment strategies. The treatment armamentarium has also recently expanded with novel agents and expanded indications, further complicating decisions.

To help clinicians interpret and apply the growing body of evidence in treatment selection across gMG subtypes, this point-counterpoint digital activity uses case-based discussions to frame differing perspectives around complex clinical questions, helping learners align their diagnostic approaches and treatment decisions with available evidence.

Through the point-counterpoint exchange, faculty will discuss the following:
• At what point should electrophysiology testing be pursued for a differential diagnosis?
• When should AChR or MuSK serology be retested?
• What is the role of newer, more sensitive testing approaches?
• What patients may benefit from an FcRn-targeting therapy vs conventional treatment?
• How do factors such as dosing frequency, route of administration, and patient preference weigh on selection of an FcRn-targeting therapy?
