This immersive practice guide offers “how to” methods and day-to-day strategies via faculty commentary and a review of data and guideline recommendations. Expert faculty address which approaches may not be working, complexities in managing this patient population, insights on how the latest evidence supports a practical recommendation and review available therapies to optimize treatment selection.

This activity is intended for oncology nurse navigators, hematology and oncology nurses, hematologists, oncologists, and pharmacists.

The prevalence of MM is higher in some racial/ethnic minorities and these patients are often diagnosed at younger ages than whites. Myriad of disparities in care contribute to worse outcomes in these patients. Drivers of these disparities have been identified in conjunction with markers of risk that can be used to personalize treatment for diverse patients. This guidebook reviews these disparities and provides tools to assist the multidisciplinary care team in ensuring that patients with MM receive that latest care based on patient and clinical factors.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Outline the latest research relating to MM disparities of care
• Describe strategies to optimally select novel targeted therapies in the frontline and relapsed MM settings considerate of patient- and disease-related factors
• Apply tactics to improve care coordination, access to care and shared decision making for African American and Hispanic MM patients
